The Las Vegas Phoenix topped the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes by the score of 8-1 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Round 1 today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Las Vegas starter Bob Molyneux, who threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win.

Molyneux tossed 84 pitches over 7 innings to clinch the win for the Phoenix. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.

"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Phoenix manager Jim Burns.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Phoenix Ballpark in Las Vegas.
