Maranan, Royals Take Dramatic Game 1 for 1-0 Series Lead
When the games really matter, the Kansas City Royals put on their best show, beating the Minnesota Twins by a final score of 3-2. Juan Maranan was 6-6 with a double and 5 singles. Kansas City now leads Minnesota 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 13th for Kansas City. That's when Chris Ross hit a run-scoring double off fireballing right-hander Davon Miree to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Maranan said his team "played with focus."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
