Blue Jays Mow Down Red Sox, 10-4
|
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Boston Red Sox by the score of 10-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Tommy Bishop. Bishop was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Blue Jays on the day. Chris Bentley got the win, improving to 4-4. He worked 8 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Toronto now sports a record of 27-46.
Dana Fisher had a big 2-run double for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the first inning. With Toronto leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Josh Jenkins, the 32nd overall pick in the 2033 draft, and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-0.
Said Boston manager NULL Hellings: "They just got the better of us."
