Atlanta Triumphs with Late Surge
Juan Salamanca, who finished 5th in the NL in wins with 15 in 2037, had a strong outing for the Atlanta Braves against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-1 win. Eric Beshears, who finished 5th in the AL in saves with 36 last year, was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dongdo-pa Tseng. The second-place Braves are now 72-44, the Brewers 61-55.

Atlanta used the clutch hitting of Chad Walker to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Braves ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Walker told the Atlanta Bulletin.
