Godwin Hits 2 home runs in Yankees Win
|
A 7-RBI performance from Nate Godwin, who is tied for 9th in the AL in home runs with 27, helped the New York Yankees beat the Houston Astros, 15-4. New York occupies second place in the American League East Division at 69-60.
Bobby Cason had a big 2-run double for the Yankees in the bottom of the seventh inning. With New York leading 5-4 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 36-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Keeling and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 7-4.
In postgame comments to the New York Daily News, Cason said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
