Guardians Send San Francisco Home with 4-2 Loss
|
The Cleveland Guardians got a good effort from starter Chris Guerrero in defeating the San Francisco Giants at Progressive Field. The final score was 4-2. In 8 innings, Guerrero surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. The win puts the Guardians at 61-79, while the Giants drop to 72-68.
Joe Stough was a prime factor in the win for the Guardians. In the bottom of the eighth with two out, the 27-year old right fielder hit a 2-run single. He was 1-1, while adding 2 RBI.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Stough told the Cleveland Chronicle.
