Aviators Jolt Aces, 4-2, with Late Rally
|
The first-place Las Vegas Aviators took on the Reno Aces in front of a spirited crowd.
The Reno Aces got a superb performance from pitcher Sharma Joshi, but the Las Vegas Aviators still won the game, 4-2. Joshi threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Luis Delgado, credited with the win, is now 6-8. He allowed no runs on no hits.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Aviators had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the eighth, when pinch hitter Nate Stevens hit a 2-run single. The single came off Jaime Miller and made the score 4-2, Aviators. Stevens went 1 for 1. He drove in 2 runs.
Stevens told the Las Vegas Chronicle: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
Las Vegas bumps their record to 74-55 with the win.
