Late Magic Gets Omaha 4-2 Win
|
Omaha picked up a win at Werner Park, toppling the Nashville Sounds, 4-2. Pitcher Joe Hughes was one of the reasons the Storm Chasers triumphed. The save went to Juan Miranda, his 11th this season. Omaha now has a record of 77-59 with the win.
In the bottom of the 8th, pinch hitter Jim Besnard gave Omaha the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Storm Chasers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Nashville pitcher Dusty Trainer changed that -- and Omaha went on to win.
Besnard called the win "a collective effort."
