Richmond Wins, Serrano goes 3-for-4
The Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Trenton Thunder, 7-6, with third baseman Georgio Serrano playing a big role. Serrano was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Flying Squirrels in the win. The win belongs to Danny Giese in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Greg Rousseau took the loss for Trenton. Takeo Miwa earned the save for Richmond, his 13th.

Had Esteban Corralejo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Corralejo hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Flying Squirrels.

"We take it day by day here," said Corralejo, "and today was a good one for us."

Richmond now sits in third place in the Western Division at 35-26.
