4-1 Loss Extends Trenton Skid
The Altoona Curve picked up a win at People's Natural Gas Field, knocking off the Trenton Thunder, 4-1. Starting pitcher Steve Balo was a big reason why. In 7 innings, Balo surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Jaheem Asare picked up the save for Altoona, his 1st of the year.

The Curve got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tim Piwowarski. For the game, Piwowarski went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 12th double of the season gave Altoona a 4-1 lead.

"This losing is getting old," said Trenton manager Justin Toole.

The Curve move to 53-61 with the win, while the Thunder drop to 42-72.
