|
New Hampshire got a decent performance from pitcher Mike Borger, but it wasn't enough to beat the Trenton Thunder. Trenton won the Arm & Hammer Park contest, 3-2. Borger threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Trenton's record now stands at 43-72, placing them last in the Eastern Division.
The Thunder got an important contribution from right fielder Juan Vivar, who in the bottom of the third punched a 2-1 sinker into right-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 3-0.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Vivar said.
