Richmond and Altoona duked it out and the Flying Squirrels came out victorious.

Getting a good performance from designated hitter Joe Remer, the Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the Altoona Curve, 7-5. Remer went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Flying Squirrels. Danny Giese earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 3-5. Rogelio Barcia was credited with the save for Richmond, his 23rd of the season.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the seventh when Remer hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Flying Squirrels into the lead, 6-5.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Remer.

The third-place Flying Squirrels lifted their record to 56-63.
