In a low-scoring contest, Altoona pitcher Steve Balo was marvelous in his team's 3-0 win. Balo, the winner, moves to 12-8. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 7 walks. At 61-68, the Curve are currently 5th in the Western Division.

The Curve got a lift from shortstop Jorge Corral, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Curve on top, 3-0.
