Fisher Cats Topple Thunder with Late Rally
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats went home winners at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Phil Hiegel. Hiegel stifled the Trenton Thunder, enabling New Hampshire to grab the 2-1 win. New Hampshire pitcher Leith Simmonds got the win. He's now 9-2. Dave Faith was tagged with the loss. Andy Fletcher got credit for the save for New Hampshire. It was his 10th of the year.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Jeff Betscher came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Trenton pitcher Dave Faith, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New Hampshire on top, 2-1.

"We did just enough to win," Hiegel said.

New Hampshire is now 55-77, Trenton 49-83.
