The Tennessee Smokies got a good effort from starter Tristan Corral in defeating the Biloxi Shuckers at Smokies Park. The final score was 3-1. Corral went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-0. Rodolfo Ramirez finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
In the bottom of the sixth, Tennessee pinch hitter Joel Ausen put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 1st home run of the year. Biloxi pitcher Kevin Linker served it up. Just like that, the Smokies were ahead, 3-1.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Corral.
The win moves Tennessee to a record of 2-9.
