The first-place Minnesota Twins took on the Pittsburgh Pirates in front of a spirited crowd.

Minnesota pitcher Chris Rodebaugh had a large part in his team beating the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Rodebaugh yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 12-8. Jorge Caraballo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 10 save opportunities.

In the bottom of the first inning, designated hitter Luis Agueros had a 3-run home run for Minnesota. It was his 31st home run of the season and put the Twins on top, 3-0.

"I was able to fill up the zone," said Rodebaugh.

At 99-63, the Twins are currently first in the American League Central Division.
