The Montgomery Biscuits had to overcome a fine performance from Mobile pitcher Mike Garrett to grab a 3-2 win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Garrett allowed 2 runs over 7.2 innings. The win belongs to Greg McCue in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Steve Frick took the loss for Mobile. The North Division-leading Biscuits are 48-20.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the BayBears allowed the Biscuits to score the winning run.

Grimmett attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
