Blue Wahoos Snatch Late Win
|
Pensacola Blue Wahoos starter Juan Asencio was in fine form against the Biloxi Shuckers at Blue Wahoos Stadium, leading his team to a win, 3-2. Pensacola reliever Dan Irons picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jaheim Cabarrus absorbed the loss. Pensacola is in first place in the South Division with a record of 69-36.
Pensacola won the game in the bottom of the 17th inning. With no outs and Jaheim Cabarrus on the mound for Biloxi, left fielder Alex Guzik hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Blue Wahoos fans to their feet.
"I went after the hitters," said Asencio. "No pussyfooting around."
