Garza Excels in 8-7 Springfield Win
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Springfield Cardinals.

Jorge Garza was a vital contributor to the 8-7 Springfield victory over Midland. The Cardinals second baseman was 3-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Josh Stratton got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 8.1 innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3.

Springfield grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Garza, who leads the in home runs with 9, hit a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Cardinals out in front, 4-2.

"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Cardinals manager Mark McLemore.

Springfield, now 13-3, is playing great baseball to start the year.
