The Midland RockHounds overcame a fine performance by San Antonio third baseman Dan Larson to defeat the Flying Tigers, 5-4, at Security Bank Ballpark. Larson was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. Midland is now 35-12, 6½ games up in the South Division.

Juan Rocha drove in 2 runs for Midland. The 25-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bertoldo Olivas. It was his 7th RBI of the season.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Midland manager Travis Dawkins.
