Starting pitcher Jeff Spray was a major factor in the 5-2 Tulsa Drillers triumph over the Amarillo Sod Poodles. Spray got the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Spray allowed 2 runs. Tulsa now sits in second place in the North Division at 38-22.

The Sod Poodles had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Drillers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old third baseman Jon Wilson came to the plate. Wilson hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from Amarillo hurler Joe Park. It was Wilson's 4th home run of the year.

"We had a good game plan," Spray said, "and we were able to execute it."
