Big Day for McDermott in 8-7 RockHounds Win
The Midland RockHounds did just enough to sneak past the San Antonio Flying Tigers, 8-7, at Flying Tigers Ballpark. Midland first baseman Zach McDermott, in particular, had a standout performance. Midland reliever Jared Schmidt picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Bob Earley was tagged with the loss. Midland bumps their record to 54-30 with the win.

Midland took a 8-7 lead on Jamie Helbig's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off San Antonio pitcher Bob Earley in the top of the eighth.

"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said McDermott. "Those qualities define our team."
