The Tulsa Blue Sox topped the Visalia Rawhide, 6-3, in California League action at Blue Sox Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Tulsa pitcher and Indio, California, native Tim Olafson. Olafson got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Olafson allowed 2 runs. Steve Laffin was called on to finish, recording his 12th save.
In the bottom of the fifth, Phil Boerckel delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Tulsa center fielder hit a 2-run triple, putting the Blue Sox in front, 6-3.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Olafson said after the game.
The Blue Sox sit in third place in the North Division with a record of 25-21.
