Woodpeckers Snag 4-1 Win
The Fayetteville Woodpeckers went home winners at Fayetteville Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Juan Ramirez. Ramirez stifled the Salem Red Sox, enabling Fayetteville to grab the 4-1 win. Fayetteville reliever Juan Corral was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Shamar Carthen took the loss. The win takes Fayetteville to 10-1.

Pat Stowe drove in one run for Fayetteville. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Luis Salazar. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Fayetteville skipper John Schneider.
