Akron Drops Another One, 5-0
|
Reading pitcher Jeremy Pyer did his part in helping his team beat the Akron RubberDucks, 5-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The RubberDucks, now 4-8, continue their poor start.
Sean Campbell, who is tied for 6th in the in bases on balls with 7, chipped in for Reading with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Everyone's pressing," said losing manager Matt Whitney. "We're trying to get off the schneid."
