Mudcats Make It 4 In a Row with 2-0 Triumph Over Down East
Robbie Hutchinson never let Down East get something going. The Carolina right-hander commanded his splitter in pitching the Mudcats to a 2-0 win. Hutchinson, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Carolina has rattled off 4 straight wins.

There were several reasons the Mudcats beat the Wood Ducks, but one factor was Sean Mora. In the bottom of the third, the Carolina shortstop came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.

"I just try to put up zeroes," said Hutchinson, "and let the rest take care of itself."
