Chris Laughlin helped his team muscle past the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 5-2. In the game, the Down East left fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Omari Rideau earned the save, his 18th, for the Wood Ducks. The third-place Wood Ducks lifted their record to 37-41.

In the first inning, Laughlin had a 2-run home run for Down East. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Wood Ducks on top, 3-0.

"The most important thing is that we won," Laughlin said.
