Getting a good performance from designated hitter Luis Pulido, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans defeated the Down East Wood Ducks, 9-8. Pulido hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Pelicans. Myrtle Beach, at 47-71, sits in last place in the Southern Division.

The Pelicans procured the win, in large part because of left fielder Juan Vega. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"This place sure got loud," said Darick Hall, the Myrtle Beach manager.
