The Myrtle Beach Pelicans defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 7-2, in Carolina League action at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Myrtle Beach pitcher Alfredo Bermea had a standout performance. Luis Cervantes closed the game out for Myrtle Beach, earning his 16th save. The win makes Myrtle Beach 48-73.
Bermea, the winner, is now 1-10 after putting the clamps on the Wilmington offense. In 7 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 1 hit, while collecting 4 Ks.
