Houston Beaten, 6-3, by Atlanta
|
The Atlanta Braves picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, knocking off the Houston Astros, 6-3. Starting pitcher Chris Sale played a key role in the triumph. Luke Jackson snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Bryan Abreu suffered the loss. With the win, Atlanta climbs to 10-9.
Atlanta used the timely hitting of Nick Madrigal to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Braves on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm a big believer in luck," said Madrigal. "And the harder we work, the more we have of it."
