The Clearwater Threshers got a strong performance from pitcher Sincere Whilby, who stymied the Daytona offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Bright House Field. Jim Conrad notched his 1st save in 1 chances. The Threshers, at 22-55, sit in last place in the FSL North.

Clearwater shortstop Gregorio Cabrera contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 25th hit of the season and put the Threshers ahead, 4-2.

Whilby called the triumph "a good team win."
