Cubs Suffer 5-2 Setback
Bowling Green turned a good effort from starter Pat Sasse into a win over the South Bend Cubs at Bowling Green Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Earning his 8th save of the year was Steve Spera. Bowling Green is in second place in the Eastern Division with a record of 70-42.

The Hot Rods got a big at-bat from right fielder Rogelio Navarro. For the game, Navarro went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Bowling Green a 2-0 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Navarro told the Bowling Green Chronicle.
