Madison College Takes League Championship Series in Deciding Game Saturday, May 6th, 2023 The Madison College Tropics are heading to the World Series, having narrowly defeated the Brooklyn College Beacons. Madison College edged Brooklyn College in the series 4-3, with a win at Beacons Ballpark in the clinching game by a 8-6 margin. Jerry Daly turned in a strong offensive performance for the Tropics and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Daly continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .407 with a .469 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 11 RBI and scored 8 runs. The Madison College Tropics will play against the Birmingham College Rogues in the next round. Birmingham College won their series against the Los Angeles College Raptors 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. View Boxscore |
