Detroit Advances to World Series

The Detroit Tigers are off to the World Series.
By a final score of 2-0 at Comerica Park, Detroit ended the League Championship Series and knocked out the New York Yankees by a series score of 4-1.
"Two great teams, only one can go on and we're happy that's us," said Ron Hughes, who was named series MVP. "There's no easy games, no easy series in the Major League Baseball playoffs."
For the series, Hughes hit .278 with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
