Marlins Cruise to Round 2 with Sweep Wednesday, August 29th , 2040 It was a sweet sweep for the Miami (GCL) Marlins as they eased past the Atlanta (GCL) Braves to advance to the Round 2. Miami (GCL) won the final game by a 8-5 count and the series 4-0. "We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Joe Valenzuela, who was named series MVP. For the series, Valenzuela hit .500 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Miami (GCL) Marlins don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Washington (GCL) Nationals - Memphis Blue Hens series. Memphis leads the series 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
