Herrera Sharp, Whitewashes Rays 2 Friday, August 14th, 2020 In a remarkable performance, Detroit (DSL) Tigers 2 starter Martin Herrera beat the Tampa Bay (DSL) Rays 2 5-0 in an impressive 5-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Tigers 2 hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Tampa Bay (DSL) manager Francisco Leandro said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was." This season Herrera has picked up no saves and posted a 6-1 record with a 1.25 ERA. He has no relief appearances, tossed 65 innings and struck out 33. |
