Carolina League Picks Best Starter in April

Jackson Humphries of the Lynchburg Hillcats outdistanced his peers on the mound this month. He fashioned a fine 3-1 won-lost mark and 1.66 ERA in 4 starts to get the Carolina League Pitcher of the Month honors.
Humphries had a very impressive April, finishing with 28 strikeouts in 21.2 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .226 average.

Antonacci Takes CAR's Best Bat Award

When Sam Antonacci stepped up to the plate in April he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Carolina League Batter of the Month award.
The young Kannapolis shortstop posted a .290 batting average with 5 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 11 runs. Antonacci also worked pitchers for 8 walks to post a .364 on-base percentage.

Shorebirds Flores Raps 3 Homers

Juan Flores was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 8-3 Delmarva Shorebirds triumph at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
The 19-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Shorebirds past the Augusta GreenJackets.
"One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Flores told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate."
The catcher went 3-for-4, rung up 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day.
Juan Flores hit a solo-shot off Adam Maier in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Adam Maier in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Albert Rivas in the 7th.
In 2025 Flores has hit at a .236 clip with 13 hits, 5 home runs, 7 RBIs and has scored 10 times.
