|
The Washington Nationals defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4, in National League action at Nationals Park. Washington pitcher Cletus Lannigan had a standout performance. Washington reliever Wilfredo Montoya snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Mikeal Renberg, Jr. shouldered the loss. The win moves Washington to a record of 17-10.
The Nationals got a clutch hit from left fielder Ken Phelps. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Nationals.
"This stadium was a-rockin'," said Phelps.
