Nationals Absorb 4-3 Home Loss
|
Cincinnati pitcher Dan McCrady had a large part in his team beating the Washington Nationals, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. McCrady yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 11. His record improves to 2-2. Getting the save was Omarion Bethea, his 5th.
Had Devin Mitchell not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Mitchell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Reds.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Mitchell.
Cincinnati is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 12th in 31 games.
