7-1 Loss Deepens Las Vegas Funk
|
Minnesota and Las Vegas put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Minnesota Twins got a marvelous performance from pitcher Tim Eller. The right-hander kept the Las Vegas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 7-1 Minnesota victory at Target Field. In 7.2 innings, Eller surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run.
Juan Pimentel had a big grand slam home run for the Twins in the bottom of the first inning. With Minnesota leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a cutter from Tony Delvecchio, the 20th overall pick in the 2047 draft, and punished it. The result was his 31st home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 5-0.
In postgame comments to the Minnesota News, Eller said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Las Vegas's current losing streak has reached 7 games.
