Reds Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Cincinnati and Philadelphia left the crowd in suspense until the final out.
Dan McCrady never let the Phillies get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Reds to a win, 1-0. Omarion Bethea picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Josh DeLair, who led the NL in saves with 38 in 2047, was tagged with the loss.
Tim Stepp had a direct impact on the outcome. Stepp contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put Cincinnati up, 1-0.
When asked about his performance after the game, Stepp said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
The Cincinnati win streak is now 3 games.
