Dodgers Capture 3-2 Win at American Family Field
|
In a low-scoring clash between Los Angeles and Milwaukee, pitcher Josh Saffer was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 3-2 Dodgers win. The winning pitcher was Saffer, now 10-9. He tossed 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. Ted Przybyszewski earned his 2nd save in 3 tries.
Los Angeles used a clutch at-bat from Jimmy Zaehringer to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Zaehringer told a Los Angeles Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The 4th-place Dodgers have won 4 in a row.
