On Road, Seattle Drops San Diego, 2-1
|
The Seattle Mariners got a good effort from starter Sean Boscia in defeating the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. The final score was 2-1. The win gives Seattle a season record of 104-49.
Seattle used a clutch at-bat from Dan Walker to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Seattle manager Jacob Viets commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
