Oakland Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Seattle and Oakland duked it out and the Mariners came out victorious.
The Seattle Mariners, behind a great outing from Layne Campeau, who leads the AL with a 1.02 WHIP, defeated the Oakland Athletics, 3-0, at Oakland Coliseum. Erik Reed sewed up the save, his 1st.
Esteban Coello, who is a two-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. Coello contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Seattle up, 2-0.
"Winning never gets dull," said Campeau.
With this game in the books, Seattle is 39-33, Oakland 42-30.
