Myrtle Beach Sweeps into the Round 2
It was a sweet sweep for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans as they eased past the Carolina Reapers to advance to the Round 2.

Myrtle Beach won the final game by a 7-4 count and the series 4-0.

"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Luis Vergara, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Vergara hit .438 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Potomac Nationals - Salem Red Sox series. Salem leads the series 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
