Giants Improve to 48-39 with 6-3 Win
|
San Francisco starter Juan Flores pitched well against the Utah Yetis at Oracle Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. San Francisco reliever Harrie Meulendijks picked up the win, upping his record to 6-5. Caleb Treasure took the loss. Tommy Urquiza closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Luis Contreras's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 3-3. The San Francisco left fielder hit a run-scoring single off Caleb Treasure to put the Giants up.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Flores told the San Francisco Today.
The Giants lead the National League West Division by 2½ games.
