Iguanas Earn 2-1 Win Versus Rays
|
Tropicana Field was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The San Juan Iguanas picked up a win at Tropicana Field, topping the Tampa Bay Rays, 2-1. On the mound for San Juan was left-hander Mike Dickerson. He played a principal role in the triumph. San Juan reliever Juan Luciano picked up the win, while Nate Baker took the loss for Tampa Bay.
Juan Marcial came through with a big-time hit for San Juan. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Dickerson.
San Juan has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
