Nationals Popped by Mets, 7-3
Thanks in large part to left fielder Jared Wagner, the New York Mets beat the Washington Nationals, 7-3. Wagner was 2-4 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Washington has now lost 4 straight.

Wagner contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for New York in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Wagner took a splitter from Kevon Appiah and stroked the triple to right. His 8th triple of the season allowed the Mets to leap in front, 3-1.

New York manager Chris Mets was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
