Miami third baseman Sean Griest was sensational. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Washington beat the Marlins, 6-2. The victory gives Washington a record of 69-55.
Munenao Saito had a big 2-run triple for the Nationals in the top of the sixth inning. With Washington leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 36-year old right-handed pitcher Pat Sisco and swatted a triple to right. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nationals ahead, 5-1.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Saito told the Washington Herald.
