The Seattle Mariners finished off the Los Angeles Angels, 8-4. Much of the credit belonged to second baseman Micah Wanner. Wanner went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Mariners. Derek Hinson picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Jon Hokanson suffered the loss. The American League West Division-leading Mariners are 78-47.

Luis Peralta came through with a big-time hit for Seattle. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Wanner told a Seattle Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
